William F. Austin Meets Nelson Mandela
Starkey’s founder and CEO William F. Austin, had the privilege to meet Nobel Peace Prize winner and former South African President Nelson Mandela and his wife Graca Machel during the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s most recent mission trip to Nelspruit, South Africa. Mr. Austin will be fitting Mr. Mandela with hearing aids in the future.
The missions in Africa were a success! Volunteers and Foundation staff fit over 10,000 hearing instruments during the month of October as they traveled through Egypt, Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa. Starkey Hearing Foundation delivers more than 50,000 hearing instruments annually through hearing missions in 86 countries.
