NBRPA teams up with SHF in Puerto Rico
Participating in the National Basketball Retired Players Association’s “Project Smile” community initiative, nearly 50 basketball greats joined Starkey Hearing Foundation in bringing the gift of hearing to San Juan, Puerto Rico as part of their NBRPA Reunion.
In partnership with the SHF and hosted by Chrysler, the NBRPA members highlighted their reunion event by participating in a hearing mission on August 23 at the Teatro de la Universidad Interamericana. Legends of the game signed autographs and encouraged the young men and women as the Starkey team fit them with 288 brand new hearing aids. Emotions ran high and smiles touched every face as the children began hearing clearly – many for the very first time.
