Starkey Stars: Chalese Buttars

Chalese Buttars is the Director of International Programs at Starkey Hearing Foundation. She is an audiologist who was introduced to humanitarian audiology and the Starkey Hearing Foundation when she participated in a hearing mission in Peru in 2013 while a student at Utah State University.

Now, Chalese helps with the coordination, education and training of our 51 programs that cover 47 countries throughout the globe.  

“The best part about our jobs is working with children around the world," she said. "However, it isn’t the smiles of the children that I pay attention to. It is the smile of the mother or father that shows us the hope they had once lost when they found out their child had hearing loss and is now regained as they see their child hearing.”
