President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush join Starkey Hearing Foundation in Namibia

April 13, 2017

Former U.S. President George W. Bush visited Starkey Hearing Foundation’s Phase 2 Fitting Mission in Windhoek, Namibia on April 6, 2017.

President Bush and his wife, former First Lady Laura Bush, were on a trip to Botswana and Namibia to advance the George W. Bush Institute’s work to improve the lives of women and girls in Africa, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare.

This was the former president’s second Starkey Hearing Foundation mission. He previously joined the Foundation for a mission in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, in June 2013. This time around, he was accompanied by Mrs. Bush, Namibian First Lady Monica Geingos, and a contingency from the Bush Center’s affiliate Pink Ribbon/Red Ribbon, which fights cervical and breast cancers in the developing world.
