The team was thrilled to welcome Tanzanian-born Hasheem Thabeet, of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, to help give the gift of hearing to more than 200 people in need in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Among the patients were two very special boys, who inspired the hearts and minds of everyone at the mission. Both boys suffered from blindness and had been cut off from the world of sound for many years, but neither of these conditions had dampened their spirits or warm smiles. As soon as they were fitted with their new hearing aids, the boys could not wait to go out into the world and explore all the sounds of life.
