Mexico holds a special place in the hearts of the members of the mission team. The warmth, joy and unforgettable smiles of the patients and families are always revitalizing. From Saltillo to Queretaro, the team enjoyed the musical stylings of Michael Johns as we fit more than 2,000 hearing aids to people in need.

One unforgettable young girl arrived at the mission with a sad and distant look on her face. Bill Austin approached her slowly, trying to coax a smile. Upon examination, he realized that the girl had been born without ears and needed a bone conductor hearing aid. Once the aid was in place and Bill switched it on, the girl’s face lit up and her eyes filled with curiosity. Another young boy named Sergio arrived at the mission looking determined in his Superman shirt. Once we gave him the gift of hearing, his quick-witted enthusiasm made it clear to everyone in attendance that, like Clark Kent, he is destined for great things.
