July 2014 Republic of the Congo

Inbetween Goma and Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the team crossed the border into the Republic of Congo to partner with the Brazzaville Lions Club and share the gift of hearing. NBA star Serge Ibaka of the Oklahoma City Thunderjoined the team on our first hearing mission in this country.

In Brazzaville, the team was greeted by lines of anxious and excited patients who could not wait to connect to the world around them through the gift of hearing. Ibaka formed a bond with Bill Austin, sticking by him to form relationships with each patient and offer strong words of encouragement.
