Chifeng, Yinchuan

China is considered by many to be the cradle of human civilization, having a rich and diverse history that dates back thousands of years. Throughout its history, China has seen cycles of prosperity and recession — recently with China’s economy vastly on the rise.

However, despite China’s progress, an extensive amount of the population remains in poverty. For decades, we have been working to give the gift of hearing to people in need in China. Our goal is to help them be part of China’s improving conditions so they can better provide for themselves and their families and be part of their communities.

In mid-August, we continued our work in China as we set out on a 15-day hearing mission to the cities of Chifeng and Yinchuan. We were greeted each day by the hundreds of smiling faces of people who were incredibly thankful to receive their new hearing aids, knowing the positive influence the ability to hear would have in their lives.

By the end of the more than two weeks we spent in China, we were able to increase the number of people we’ve helped in the country to more than 20,000 — a true testament of how teamwork and cooperation can make a significant difference in so many lives.
