On September 27th, the Starkey Hearing Foundation marked a new milestone as 29 new hearing health specialists graduated from Starkey Hearing Institute Philippines as the pioneering class and joined the now nearly 150 Starkey Hearing Institute graduates across the globe. After completing a five-month certification course in community ear and hearing health care (in partnership with the Anargyroi Foundation and the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery UST), these dedicated hearing ambassadors are now equipped with the knowledge and expertise in hearing care and the WFA method, ready to extend the care, service, and compassion of the Starkey Hearing Foundation to transform lives across the Philippines.
With these new specialists, more Filipinos in need will gain access to life-changing hearing services, ensuring that hearing health care reaches every corner of the Philippines, giving thousands the opportunity to live up to their full potential.Join us in celebrating the launchpad of sustainable, community-based hearing health care through the SHI Philippines — so that all of the Philippines may hear! The Momentum Continues
As the first class of the Starkey Hearing Institute Philippines graduates, we are thrilled to welcome our next cohort as they begin their community-based hearing healthcare journey! With each new class, we’re increasing access to essential care for more people. This new group has already begun training in the WFA method, participated in a mini mission, and even learned about active care. It’s incredible to see these future healthcare professionals stepping up to fill the gap in hearing care!
From the Ground | Hearing Mission in Philippines
During a hearing mission in Manila and Pampanga, Philippines, recent program graduates and visiting Starkey Hearing Foundation partners served over 2,000 patients. From sunrise to sunset, we witnessed lines wrapping around the block, favorable weather, partners who showed incredible generosity, and our team working tirelessly with unity and passion to make it all possible during a successful three-day event.One heartfelt testimony truly touched our hearts: “Starkey Hearing Foundation, thank you for coming to the Philippines and providing free hearing, not only for me but for all those who desperately needed it. I am beyond happy to share my story and use my voice to encourage my fellow hearing impaired to stay strong and have faith. Now I can hear as clear as the sea and understand what the world is saying.
