The second leg of our Mexico hearing mission gave us the opportunity to celebrate the life of our founder, Bill Austin. Bill has dedicated his life to the gift of hearing and helping people connect with their families and the world around them. For his birthday, the team surprised him and that day’s patients with a Mariachi band.

Among the crowd of revelers were a young father and his three sons, all struggling with hereditary hearing loss. The day was even more special for them because it marked the first time this family all heard each other’s voices. The team, our volunteers and patients new to the world of sound danced and sang in celebration of Bill and the gift of hearing.
